Did You Really Earn Your “Best of Title” or “Award”?

Hint: Most “Best of Title” or “Awards” are scams used to embellish the value of inferior products or services. Also included in these scams can be popularity polls sponsored by local media where unknown entities solicit friends to vote early and often to receive awards they’ve not earned through years of experience.

DJ’s that promote their “Best of Awards” as the main reason to hire their DJ service are indirectly telling you how poor their performance really is. It’s far easier to show off a “paid for award” than to invest time into continuing education to improve your craft and performance.

Truly competent and accomplished DJ performers will lead with their experience and offer examples of how it can benefit you!

The Rapid City Journal, Rapid City, SD summed up dubious awards the best.

“These kinds of awards lend doubt to the legitimate ones,” she said.
“I just feel bad that there are people out there who do this, that, then cause that distrust.”

According to the Better Business Bureau “Vanity Awards” is one area among others to exercise caution.

This is an accounting of time, resources and supplies that we’ve invested into dealing with the community spraying project, which is over and above our fair and equitable participation contribution.

* removes a substantial mosquito breeding habitat affecting Bakke subdivision
* assists water runoff in exiting Bakke subdivion
* improves the entrance appeal of Bakke subdivion

By removing long grass the area(s) dry faster which limits the breeding habitat for mosquitos.   The 2009 spray season cost for Bakke subdivions dropped significantly, in part, as a result of this additonal mosquito prevention measure.   Any areas of longer grass that can be removed is an easy way to help reduce mosquito breeding habits.

Historically,  since the very first mosquito reduction application began in Bakke subdivision, participation fees have been “voluntary” and “equally divided” among the legally defined properties choosing to participate. 

Pursuant to that precedent;

Voluntaty participation fees for each legally defined property may not exceed the amount by which each legally defined property and household benefits from mosquito reduction applications. The voluntary participation fees must be uniformly applied to the participating legally defined properties.

As follows:

• legally defined property is defined within the plat map for Bakke subdivision,

• each legally defined property shall receive mutual benefit from the spray applications,

• each owner may restrict access to certain areas of their legally defined property in writing annually,

• the voluntary participation fee must be uniform among all participating legally defined property,

• participation fees may not exceed the equal and mutual voluntary participation fee,

• use of property or property coordinates shall not increase or decrease the participation fees,
